Metrics are collected via the Nutanix REST API on the Prism Element or Prism Central System.
Prism Element or Prism Central Differences
The differences between the supported connection types are listed below:
Prism Element
Returns vDisk resources AND Disk hardware configuration details
Can only “see” the cluster that particular node belongs to (1-to-1 cluster manager)Prism Central
Does NOT not return vDisk resources OR Disk hardware configuration details
Can be configured to “see” multiple clusters within the environment (1-to-multiple manager)
Network Requirements
Port: 9440 (TCP) for connecting to the Prism System
Least Privileged User
BindPlane requires a least privileged Nutanix user account of read-only.
